Robbie Dunbar is joined by two other Beserkley alums, Larry Lynch, the longtime drummer with Greg Kihn and Jimmy "Jet" Spalding. The bands first album on Beserkley Records, the self titled, "Earth Quake" is considered by some to be one of the best live albums ever released.Īlthough the original band split up in the early 1980s, Beserkley released a compilation album Sittin' in the Middle of Madness in 2000. The band’s first two albums, Earth Quake (1971) and Why Don't You Try Me (1972), were remastered and re-released in 2004 on Acadia Records. Earth Quake scored a big hit with their subsequent cover of the Easybeats’ “Friday On My Mind” which was used by many d.j.s across America to open their Friday shows. The new label’s first single was “Sittin’ In the Middle of Madness”. After two albums with A&M the group left to found Beserkley Records with their manager, Mathew Kaufman. Just out of high school the band was signed as one of the first rock groups on A&M Records.
